Q:
Hiiiiiii!!! I'm so happy about the new releases, I've been wishing and waiting!!!!!😍
I noticed you also made the Bandai Myu guest corner available, YESSSSSS this is SUCH A WIN!!!! 😭 I'm very happy, I plan to watch it all soon thank yoooooou ^^
Gosh, I don't want to pressure you into anything, having the shows AND the Bandai guests were my biggest wishes, but I have to ask: what about the other guests' footage? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I assume the guests in the full musical footage are the ones from the final show. I don't wanna be greedy, we have SO MUCH as it is and you've already done a HUGE favour and service to us all and I'm very glad! I just! have to ask 👉 👈
Whatever is your answer, thank you SO much for all of this, you've made my (and others'!!!) sailor moon experience so much richer with your work! Have a lovely day! 🌙⭐
Hii!! Thank you for the kind ask! I’d have to say right now doing the rest is a biggg maybe. 😅
However, the guest corner part in the full show (which is day 4 2nd performance - Satomi Okubo and Saki Matsuda) is translated, so that’s total 3 of the 8 guest corners.
Wish I had a better answer for you but if Akiko is up to it at some point then we’ll get it out there! Thank you again!
Q:
I know you’re busy and have a schedule so I’m not expecting it now or soon but are you be able to sub the super live and this year’s nogimyu? I would love to see it and once again thank you for your hard work I’m really looking forward to seeing the music festival chronicle 😊
Hi there! Im thinking we will probably get around to this years Nogimyu. Can’t say for sure when, but I’ll be aiming to snag the Blu-ray of it. As for Super Live, unfortunately there has not been an full release of the show. Just mostly media clips and recordings from the ending concert/curtain call stuff, so we can’t do a release. No matter how much we want to :(
Chronicle is in the proof reading stage and I was making good progress when life decided to explode on me this month. Got me all over the place lol. Hoping for a calm moment to get back to it soon! I really had wanted to get it out so I’ll be making a push once things calm down a bit. 😊
Q:
Hey guys, I hope you're doing ok!
I was wondering: are you planning on subbing the Kaguya Hime's Beloved myu? Or since they (miraculously) streamed a subbed version that's not happening? I wonder if they will stream it again later this year, since they streamed nogi twice...
Anyway, cheers!
We got quite a few asks on this so I’ll answer yours and call it a day. Unfortunately the answer is…wishy washy. I haven’t talked much with Akiko about subbing Kaguya and since there were official subs streamed, it seems there isn’t a need currently. However, seeing that it’s been over a year since it’s release and almost a year since the official streams with no news on a way to get the official subs outside of 🏴☠️ methods, then there may be a need to fill at some point. I just can’t give a definite answer at the point.
If we do, well certainly update here, the website and in our Discord server (which is a really great way to keep in touch with me if you ever have questions!)
Thank you and best wishes to you as well!
Q:Interested in Myu-original storylines, i.e. ones not based on the animanga seasons/villains. Any recommendations on which one to start with? I'm interested in worldbuilding if that helps.
Ooh awesome ask! The musicals you want to watch are the Kaguya ones, the Dracul Series and even though its more of a celebration, it does have an original story: The 10th Anniversary Festival - Sanctuary of Love (Ai no Sanctuary). Also, in my opinion, the runners up of having an “originalish” storyline would be the two SuperS musicals and The Eternal Legend (Eien Densetsu). While those shows do cover certain arcs, the musicals add enough of their own twists and changes to the story that they practically become an original telling of those arcs on their own.
I’ll break it down the Kaguya and Dracul Series with a tiny synopsis!
First up are the Kaguyas:
- 1999 Spring - The Legend of Kaguya Island (Kaguya Shima Densetsu)
- 1999 Summer – The Legend of Kaguya Island (Revised Edition) - Summer Vacation! The Jewel Expedition Party (Kaguya Shima Densetsu (Kaiteiban) - Natsuyasumi! Houseki Tankenta)
- 2004 Summer - The New Legend of Kaguya Island (Shin Kaguya Shima Densetsu)
- 2005 Winter - The New Legend of Kaguya Island (Revised Edition) - Marinamoon Final (Shin Kaguya Shima Densetsu (Kaiteiban) - Marinamoon Final)
The story between the original Kaguya Island and the “new” Kaguya Island musicals are similar but they have some differences in plot, a few characters and music. I highly recommend watching both and taking from either or as I find each version adds something to the overall story. Kaguya’s story, to simply put it, is about the Usagi and co. getting stuck on an island while being pursued by Loof Merrow and her band of Pirates looking for the Silver Crystal and a new enemy, Dark Plasman, the personification of a comet who wishes to take the place of Earth. The revised version of the original musicals offers a fun scene of Neo Queen Serenity, King Endymion and Chibiusa in Crystal Tokyo that is worth seeing. :D
Second, is the Dracul Series. We highly recommend that these musicals be watch in order as they are the only ones that actually have some semblance of a continuity (all the other shows are basically stand alones).
- 2000 Winter - New / Transformation - The Road to Become the Super Soldier (Shin / Henshin - Super Senshi e no Michi - Last Dracul Jokyoku)
- 2000 Summer Decisive Battle / The Forest of Transylvania - A New Arrival! The Soldiers who Protect Chibimoon (Kessen / Transylvania no Mori - Shin Toujou! Chibimoon wo Mamoru Senshitachi)
- 2001 Winter - Decisive Battle / The Forest of Transylvania [Revised Edition] - The Enigma of the Ultimate Enemy, Dark Cain - (Kessen / Transylvania no Mori [Kaiteiban] - Saikyou no Kataki Dark Cain no Nazo -)
- 2001 Spring - Last Dracul Final Chapter - The Seal of the Super Planet Death Vulcan (Last Dracul Saishuu Shou - Chou Wakusei Death vulcan no Fuuin)
If I try to give a “brief” synopsis on the Dracul series, I might end up writing a mini essay. Sooo..lets just go with the Dracul series features a smorgasbord of monsters and mythology from vampires to undead serial killers to werewolves to heavy Judaic references to the mysterious 10th planet, Vulcan. This series is probably some of the darkest material in Sailor Moon and sometimes most complicated storyline. (Just note that the the 2001 Winter revised edition of TnM acts as both a revision and sequel to help tie the story into the 4th show, so don’t skip it!)
Annnnd that got really long but I hope you end up watching these wonderful shows! They are probably my favorites of all the older shows. :)
@ree-fireparrot, I’ll be curious to see what you think after giving them a view!
Q:When is SeaofSerenity's Anniversary?
I have honestly no idea sorry.
Counting years only serves as a reminder that the end is nigh.
Our first post announcing our opening on our website is November 11th, 2013 so that would be our officially anniversary, however we had been working on translations for the musicals some time before that since we opened with 6 shows already finished.

Q:Which Moon is your favorite (question for both of you)?
For me (Hikari Sama) its always very hard to choose because I love them all for various reasons. Anza has a great singing voice and amazing in emotional scenes. Fumina is literally best mature manga personality Usagi (and her NQS is awesome). Miyuki is just bubbly and cute while able to portray serious and emotional moments very well. And then Marina is just adorable and you watch her grow into this amazing actress by her final show.
Wow that was long. Um so if I had to pick, Miyuki just because she’s so cute and bubbly and is really a true representation of Usagi/Sailor Moon to me.
I know Akiko has mentioned to me many many times that Fumina is her favorite. :)
Well I missed a message from Akiko that she wanted me to add to this ask (she couldn’t get to it) so Akiko says:
“Fumina Hara, I loved her portrayal of a more refined Usagi, like we go in the last two arcs of the manga but she still has the trademark Usagi cheekiness and silliness. I find her more balanced than the other actresses.”
Also we still have our poll going on asking the same question!

How long does it take to download our musicals?
I am curious to how long on average it takes to download one of our musicals. I currently have them directly linked from my web host space, but if download times are too long or slow, I will consider offering torrent links or some other alternate form of downloading. We’ve yet to receive any complaints, but since I’ve never personally needed to download from our website, I would love to know from our fans experiences. :)
Either send an ask or reply to this and let us know!

Q:If you're still taking gif requests: I'd love some gifs from Koi no Senshi ja Irarenai (the parts where everyone says their catchphrase and senshi name). :)
Oh another good one to add to my list! Sorry that these are slow coming, I work on them when I can. xD
Also any particular musical to do it from? (I personally love the one from Transylvania).
Q:Do you actually only have 50 followers?
53 technically. But thats pretty much expected, we’ve only just started and we’re really only promoting ourselves on tumblr (which is already only one part of the Sailor Moon Fandom) and TheGalaxyCauldronForums. (Neither of us actually has an account on any of the big Sailor Moon Forums and we don’t want to really just make one for the sake of promotion, if you want to tell people about us go right ahead!)
Besides SeraMyu is a pretty small interest and all of them have been done, and SeraMyu is also only one aspect of a much larger being, where the anime and manga forms are already far more popular, not to mention that this fandom has a lot of fan loyalty to older translators, other people have seen the musicals and only want to see them once, others can’t be bothered downloading another version of something. Its all good though.
Basically we’re catering to a small sector of a small sector in a small sector of a small sector in a not-that-small-but-relatively-small sector.
Its nothing to fuss over, we don’t have adspace on our site so we’re not making any money so we don’t need lots of traffic. If you want to watch our stuff, watch them, if you don’t, then don’t. I’m not sure if this anon is out of genuine surprise or a jab at confidence.
Personally, I would like more people to watch our releases (I think I’ve seen two tumblrs in total who have ever posted shots of our stuff) but if people aren’t going to watch them, that’s fine too. I just enjoy translating these. In fact four of the translations had idled around for half a year seen by noone but about 4 people!
We’re doing this because we like SeraMyu.
I’m going to have to wholeheartedly agree! Personally, I am not in it for the followers or to gain popularity. I’ve just always wanted to run a Sailor Moon website while at the same time have access to all of the musicals. This is pretty much me living the dream!
