Akiko Kosaka has started a YouTube channel and is uploading video of her playing songs on piano, mainly Sailor Moon related! For those that aren’t familiar with her, she composed nearly all the music in the original run of musicals, as well as songs for the 90s anime, Crystal and was working on the Prism on Ice show.

So far she has done:

  • Tuxedo Mirage - the linked video. As many of you know, it is the ending to Sailor Moon S.
  •  Anata - an original song she wrote in 1974, when she was 16, and became quite famous in Japan.
  • Densetsu Seitan (Birth of a Legend) - the theme song for Sailor Stars and its Winter revised edition. It also reappears in Summer 97, Winter 98, Spring 02 and Winter 04 musicals.
  • Minna Dareka ni Aisarete (Everyone is Loved By Somebody) - the closing song of all Kaguya Island musicals. It shares the melody of LINK, which it seems she plays a little bit at the beginning before Minna in the video!

The concert celebrating the 45th anniversary of composer Akiko Kosaka’s career brought together a bunch of people from Bandai Era’s Sera Myu!

This time I made a compilation of every character the actors got to reprise in song for the event, which is why some (well, mostly Hikari XD) appear more than once! Here it goes

With the next musical previously postponed to 2020, I didn’t expect much Myu related news at Usagis’ Birthday Party… But oooh, there is something!!!!!

The official Sailor Moon fan club, Pretty Guardians, is supporting and event in honor of the 45th birthday of the legend herself, Akiko Kosaka, composer of music and songs for the original Sailor Moon musicals and anime series!!!!!

The performance will be held at Harajuku Quest Hall on Saturday, November 9, 2019 (Sunday). It features a line up of classic Sera Myu actors centered on Akiko Kosaka and the one and only ANZA, the first Sailor Moon on stage!

Pardon my google translator: “On the first day, you can sit and enjoy the contents centered on piano performance and talk, and on the second day, it will be a structure that can be enjoyed by band organization”.

* Trivia: Misako Iwana, Yuuka Asami, Momoko Okuyama, Sakoto Yoshioka, Yuuta Mochizuki and Ryuuji Kasahara all participated in a similar event when Anza and Akiko did a collaborative concert in 2015, Legend Forever. They had a different Uranus and Kakyuu, and also had a Galaxia in it. I don’t know which Mercury and Saturn were there so I can’t comment on that ^^’
