Sailor Moon Trivia: Which Season?

Though often thought to have been written for the Sailor Moon SuperS anime. This song “Sailor Team no Theme” was actually written for the Sailor Moon S movie along with “Moonlight Destiny” in the same manner as “Sanji no Yousei” and the remixed version of “I am Sailor Moon” for the other movies.

Sailor Moon Trivia: Missing Mercury

In the song “Sailor Team no Theme” (The Theme of the Sailor Team), lyrics by Naoko Takeuchi, originally released for the Sailor Moon S Movie and subsequently appearing in Sailor Moon SuperS episode 161 features a line that refers to each member of the Sailor Team:

とどけライメイ　炎ゆれて　愛のムチ
Todoke raimei honoo yurete ai no muchi
“Send the thunder, sway the flames, the whip of love”

A line for Sailor Mercury is completely absent from this song. (The line “Sailor Moon! Sailor Moon!” appears further in the song)

However, a later version of this song on the “SuperS in Paris” album, changes this line to finally include Mercury.

Todoke raimei honoo yurete mizu no sasayaki ai no muchi
“Send the thunder, sway the flames, the whispers of water, the whip of love”

It is unknown who is responsible for the change in lyrics, but it is quite likely to have been Kayoko Fuyumori, the album’s primary lyricist who also was the main lyricists on the Sailor Moon Musicals.
