We are happy to announce our newest release: Amour Eternal just in time for the great American Eclipse!  This is the 4th of the new musical projects that began with 2013′s La Reconquista. Amour Eternal tells the story of the series’ fourth arc regarding Super Sailor Moon’s introduction and the battle against the Dead Moon Circus, a villain group that arrives during a total Solar Eclipse…  This musical also introduces a brand new cast for the Sailor Team.

Something strange happens in a single moment during the total Solar Eclipse and suddenly a Circus arrives in town. Usagi and her friends attend their auditions, but soon realise its an enemy scheme and set out to defeat them. Meanwhile, Chibiusa befriends the mysterious Pegasus who lives in her dreams. 

This musical features numbers including “Speed of Light”, “Viva Viva Dead Moon Circus” “Yami no Shin’en - The Abyss of Darkness”, “Nehelenia no Noroi” and “Koisuru Satellite”.

This is a version of SuperS featuring the Outer Soldiers, far less focus on Pegasus and Chibiusa and a special all-new storyline featuring Sailor Saturn. Also features the birth of Eternal Sailor Moon to the musicals.

Children around the world have been disappearing suddenly over night and the Sailor Soldiers are off to investigate. Meanwhile, Chibiusa befriends a strange boy named Perle. That night Chibiusa is captured by a fairy who acts under the orders of Badiane. The Sailor Soldiers head to Marzipanne Castle to rescue her… with the help of some familiar friends. Super Sailor Moon is off to the rescue to prove which are the sweetest dreams of all!

Ami’s First Love

Adapted from Naoko Takeuchi’s short story, Ami, the popular character from Sailor Moon, finds she’s being matched in the mock exams and it fills her with an intense passion much to the confusion of her friends. While Ami grows more obsessive, her friends speculate that what Ami is really experiencing the feelings of first love! 

Sailor Moon Trivia: Which Season?

Though often thought to have been written for the Sailor Moon SuperS anime. This song “Sailor Team no Theme” was actually written for the Sailor Moon S movie along with “Moonlight Destiny” in the same manner as “Sanji no Yousei” and the remixed version of “I am Sailor Moon” for the other movies.

We have not translated the French because my understanding of French is non-existent. If any French-speakers would like to help out here, please let us know! Though the Japanese in the brackets seem to give the gist of the French, they seem to be interpretative lyrics. These bracketed words were transcribed from the album booklet and were for the benefit of the Japanese audience if they could not understand French.

We’ve currently only done the songs that appear only on this album and aren’t French remakes of previous songs, we do plan on including the other five in the future when we translate the regular versions.

Ii Ko wa Yameta (The Good Girl Has Gone)

Bad girl Ami first appears in the SuperS Musical… 9 years before the live-action series featured a similar character!

The Amazon Trio succeed in capturing the girls (a surprise in itself, of course, for anyone who has seen them in the anime) and turn into selfish, cruel girls much to Usagi’s shock.

Sailor Moon Trivia: The Birth of Eternal Sailor Moon

Eternal Sailor Moon’s original appearance in the Musicals comes in the revised edition of the SuperS Musical. In this version of the series, Super Sailor Moon is defeated and subsequently killed by Queen Nehelenia and the remaining nine Sailor Soldiers attempt to revive Sailor Moon by combining their powers. When this fails, Sailor Mars pleads with the audience to help them by calling out to Sailor Moon in a loud voice. When the audience call out to her, Sailor Moon awakens and transforms with “Moon Eternal, Make Up!” for the very first time.

In other words, in the musicals, Sailor Moon’s ultimate form is born out of the dreams and love of her fans and friends.

Sailor Moon Trivia: Returning Staff

Yoshiko Iseki (also known as Keiko Iseki), who played Zirconia in the original SuperS Musicals in 1995 and 1996. She also later became the assistant director for the 1999 Spring Show “Kaguya Shima Densetsu”, and returned once again to be the assistant director for 2013’s “La Reconquista” and 2014's Petite Étrangère. She also helped write most of the songs for “La Reconquista”.

Translator’s Notes

When Usagi and her friends attend auditions for a Circus Troupe, Usagi meets a mysterious girl who she finds is being bullied and Usagi starts to stand up for her but soon Usagi finds herself the target of bullies… her own friends! Usagi must find out what’s going on and solve the mystery of the Dead Moon Circus and of the mysterious Pegasus.

This show probably has the first major deviation from the manga and anime series with a completely new back story for one of the characters… Though a spin-off from the anime, it includes the Soldiers of the Outer Solar System with some references to the manga. It also features a variety of terrific songs and dance numbers including fan-favourites “Over The Moon” “Amazon kara Circus Dan ga Yatte Kita” “Double Moonlight Romance” “Fukkatsu! Crisis Yurusumaji” “Usagi Circus Show Time” and one of the most popular SeraMyu songs of all time “La Moon”.This show also stands as the sole version in any Sailor Moon media where a main character is permanently killed off.
